Cool Dipstick

Hi All,
I would like to say thanks to everyone for a great day out at Sywell it really is a great location to meet up, also thanks for the assistance with the bonnet catch also, i did tell Mrs M, not to worry because Sywell will full of experts and knowledge Amazon people . One question i meant to ask whilst there but it slipped my mind, does anybody know how much oil is required between the Min and Max mark on the dipstick, so i can monitor oil consumption.

Look under the bonnet or in your owners manual. Sorry I can't be more specific but asking questions about a XC70 in this section of the forum is a bit like asking about intergalactic rocket propelled space ships (we're a bit old fashioned here)

I think you are best off keeping track of how much you add and how far you drive and when you added rather than guessing levels on a dipstick. Whilst engine oil doesn't expand as alarmingly as say some automatic transmission fluids temperature as well as position does have an influence.

Rammer;

You need this section of the forum for XC70 questions and answers:

We're all old-skool in here and drive 50 year old cars!

Don't know if it is relevant for your car - as said above go and see the whiz kids on the other section of the forum
