Question S80 Radio itself and Controls

I have a S80 2003 which has a HU-611 system. The display is not visible unless there is light to shine where then u can see the display very lightly..but everything works except the radio controls on the steering wheel. Now I found a fuse for the radio on the side of the dashboard which when the car is warmed up I pull out and put back then the radio display returns to normal and the steering wheel controls work once again. When the car kools down the radio goes back to not displaying anything and the steering wheel radio controls dont work again..until i pull the fuse out and do this everytime i get into the car...Can any help me with this...Thanks in advance..

Not come across this problem before. You could try disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes, in case that helps to reset something, otherwsie I suggest you go and talk to a dealer. These radios are 'set' to the car through software. I don't know in detail what this does, but perhaps something has gone wrong. The steering wheel controls also go through another module (not sure which one) that communciates with the radio through software.

i woke to the same problem today, however so far i have only had to remove the fuse once!

did you ever find the cause?

i also have the same problem on my 2001 - have removed the radio and checked for intermittent connections but no luck, still takes awhile for lights to come on and steering control to work. definitely temp dependant, hopefully someone knows what might be wrong since it seems to be generic?
