I found a volvo original sensor part number 3547710 and I think my new tank has the float and the hole in the bottom for the sensor so I’m hoping to plug it into the washer fluid level wires and do without a washer fluid sensor for now

Someone was selling one on eBay. Volvo genuine in a volvo bag. Seemed like it had been stored a while! Cost £27

When i lived down that neck of the woods Mark, if i happened to go through PIddlehinton, i would take a deep breath and hold it until i reached the other end of the village!

No hurry on the bushes Mark, when you get a chance. I've got some parts here for a friends Rover that i can't send at the moment because the sub-PO is shut here for the time being.

I'll have a look, i may have a square one with a sensor but not sure...........

Cool. Think the Skandix one was around that price. I have some bits I need to order later so I might bung a sensor on as well. Or try FRF

Just wondered whether you had any tips on replacing the fuel filter on a 1998 940 ? I read on here something about making sure the car has a full tank of fuel, other than that is it quite self explanatory? Thank you

Default Prices for expansion tanks

Price level in The Netherlands is around 50 Euro for an expansion tank (art. 9122997, 9122564, 51.22997, 21432997, 9142001) and 26 Euro for the sensor (art. 3547710). The tank is about half the price for a non-original one.
I would not bother with a second hand one, as the metal insert at the bottom outlet has usually started to corrode, leading to the plastic connection to split.

Assuming the fuel filter is in the same place on later cars with only the in-tank pump, it's case of getting underneath, use two spanners on each union, one to hold the filter end and the other to undo the banjo bolt.

Make sure everything is clean, use new sealing washers and test afterwards for leaks. If one or the other union happens to leak, switch off, slacken that union a 1/4 turn and then retighten then test again.

Not sure why a full tank would be any different to a 1/4 tank, perhaps on a diseasel it may make some difference but as the pump is in the tank, there shouldn't be any difference at all.

Thanks for that. I just thought I’d read somewhere on here about a full tank. The one I’ve ordered comes with washers. Thanks again!

Probably saying that to cover themselves. If your tank is empty when you do it all the sh*te will be pushed into the nice new filter.
