Hi Dave
I know, thank you very much. I am also surprised that she didn't talk to me about the car. She said that she sent out letters but I haven't seen one. I am very cross with myself for not telling her that it was mine because then it wouldn't be damaged - but I have to say I didn't foresee that anyone would do this to it. I agree with you entirely although I have to take some responsibility for this situation.
Thank you very much for your advice and understanding, I really appreciate it. I will have a look at the Sales and Wanted sections but may not be able to go down that route in the circumstances.
Kind regards to you,
Nicola

I would happily buy it but it would be to break it unless it was a saloon then I would definitely out it on the road but I haven't got anywhere to put it at the moment and wont do before the 2 weeks are up.

I have no idea why but i thought it was a saloon Luke - perhaps Nicola can confirm it's a saloon or not?

As i mentioned in my post, if she had a firm offer, i don't see why her landlady couldn't hang on a bit longer. At least you're closer to Manchester than i am but it's manual so would have been no good for me in any case.

You might want to check this out but I don't think it is actually illegal for someone to park on someone elses driveway. I don't know the land situation or anything but your landlady may have broken the law. I seem to remember something strange like that.
What with it being off the road etc., I'm not sure. By the way I would dearly love the car but I'm at the wrong end of the country and have very little money...

Not the most credible maybe but:

Hi Everyone
Thank you for all your replies. It is a Volvo estate.

If it wasn't for the current situation, I would certainly love it to go to someone who wants it but am very restricted in what I can do - and isn't right to encourage someone to come and collect it, because we all need to follow the Government guidance. My family are keen for me to get it sorted as soon as possible and so I haven't listed it on the sales or wanted section.

Also it wasn't parked on someone else's driveway. It is parked behind the house where I live, I am in a flat. It is on the land where I am entitled to park.

I am having a conversation with a scrap dealer today who are reputable and would collect it non-contact but I am finding it very difficult because I am emotionally attached to the car. It isn't about the money, it is about doing the right thing for everyone.

Thank you all, Nicola

I've sent a PM, I have the stuff to fix it so I would like the opportunity to get it back on the road and if I can't then I will break it and make sure the parts get used.

I also sent a PM last night,

I can get it collected no contact and would be paying a lot more than your scrap dealer who would just waste the whole car
