Much as i agree with the sentiments, i seriously doubt Nicola wants to end up homeless/evicted on top of everything else, especially at the moment with the country on lockdown.

Hopefully one or other of the offers is acceptable and we'll hear of a positive outcome from this!

The 960 is an awesome car, I do love mine very much. It gets a fair chunk of disapproval from the materialistic in the world, but that just adds to the appeal!

If there is at all an option not to scrap this car, take it. I am happy to wait in line but have a very resourceful contact who would come and collect this, non-contact.

Cheers,

F

Hi Volvo enthusiasts!

I am very appreciative of all the understanding, help and information I have received on this thread. Also, the offers of course. I have talked to my landlady and complained to her about the damage, but I have also accepted that I should have told her it was mine (although to me I was just parking a second vehicle out of the way in the corner, no stipulation in the contract that I couldn't and there is plenty of space). But it has been stationery a long time. This is not a reason to damage and move someone else's property though, I would have happily told her it was my car, had she asked. I am dismayed and cross that it has happened (I completely understand the suggestion of not paying rent!), but as 'Laird Scooby' has said, I also need to be able to stay in my flat, especially at the moment.

I asked my landlady for an extension to the two weeks on the basis that we are in the middle of a pandemic and I do not want to risk anyone's safety to move a car unnecessarily. My brother, who owns the car with me, agrees and I know that our dad would think that people's safety is paramount. I am pleased to report that my landlady has agreed to a four week extension and then we will review it. I have received a firm offer from someone who is keen to rescue the car, which is great. Thank you for the other interest and offers to do this too. I hope to report a happy ending on here in the weeks or months to come!

Stay well and safe everyone and kind regards to all. I really am delighted with the response of the Volvo community - although from Volvo enthusiasts I would expect nothing less!

Cheers everyone,
Nicola

On the whole Nicola, that's great news! Hopefully your landlady comes to the conclusion she does in fact owe you some sort of recompense for the damage she's done and meanwhile, hopefully you've got a deal that is good for both you and the buyer.
