Folding mirror issue

Hello. I have a 2011 Volvo s60 D3. A year ago my driver side door mirror started to act up when I unlock it. If the car has been standing in the sun (At work for the day) then the mirror will not unfold and with a gentle coaxing with the hand it will unfold. But lately it is getting worse and the motor is doing a stop start thing.
Would I need to replace the motor in the mirror or is it something I can fix myself? either way, how easy is it to repair myself?

Hello,

Mine needed a re-grease as it was moving very slowly. I would suggest an inspection to see if the gearing is ok and why its sticking.

Could be that a spider has taken up residence!!
