Default Project foglamps and the painting there of

Got myself a pair of fogs to try something, the glass was filthy on the inside but is all cool 'cos the trick is spliting them!
In the oven they go for about 10mins at 170C and, using a screwdrive to pry it open and my Mrs using a stanley knife (other makes are available) to cut the glue. The second one was easiest, i think more heat got into it as it was still in while we worked on the first Oven gloves/lots of cloths to hold them 'cos glass gets hot........
The next job is to spray them black and re-glue the lenses back on.

I can vouch for them being an absolute pain to part the glass from the plastic. It seems that its the strongest adhesive used on the car, I remember that I used an artists scalpel to get further in to cut the glue. Also one was slightly easier for me too - and there was no heat involved.

For re-sealing I used some Automotive Silicone of the type used by a vehicle bodyshop.

You will be very pleased when you see them on the car, and wonder why Volvo were stigs and not pay to have them painted silver or black. Mine have been on for about 6 years and no issue with damage to the paint from bulb heat when in use.

Ok An update.
I fitted the passenger side lamp but ran out of time to tackle the drivers as there is a lot of crap in the way...
Anyway here's my result of my day but it must have blown the bulb.

They look great. I'd do the same, but our car has had a very hard year, dents, scrapes, rust, holes where rust used to be...
