Default who wants to laugh first Locked SC805 radio oops

You can all have a good laugh I bought a new battery for my T-5 the one on it wasnt up to the job. I didn't realise that the radio code was still in the radio the seller had assured me it was unlocked.... Nope it wasnt and I haven't got the unlock code.

So I need to know where is the serial code for the unit so I can order a replacement code and how long do I need to wait till "off" goes off?

Thanks

Charlotte

How rare are the black SC805's ? Picture of mine before the new battery [oh what a silly billy my late grandfather would have said then roured of laughter]

Your volvo dealer can help with the code , it is on his database if it is the original radio for the car , if not he will want the radio at hand to get the type , model and serial number where he can look up another volvo database for the code .
You will have to leave the radio on for some hours for the OFF to revert back to CODE , perhaps overnight if you have entered the wrong code a number of times . ( you must have entered the wrong code more than 3 times for it to say OFF )

One of the most friendly and helpful dealers out there is TMS Hinckley, they used to be called Frank Taylor until being taken over, but all the staff have been there years, they are interested in older Volvos not just brand new ones. They gave me my black sc code ... Try them on 01455 632478

Default radio

I assume that I need to remove the radio from the housing to get to the s/n so think I'll leave that to the dealership to do. I find Inchcape Volvo in Norwich very friendly and once you've bought from them they remember you and your car along with its faults and foibles.

Charlotte, there's 2 clips on the side of the radio you push in to release the radio, a 5yo could do it, in the bottom half of the radio, use the key to push it in to release them, them pull them out
