Thinking of buying Nankang XR 611 tyres for the front of my V50 se sport, has anyone tried them?

not on the S40 but I have nad nankangs on my old E30 BMW. They stuck to the the road really well but seemed to have a quick wear rate on the driving wheels. (May just have been my driving style!)

I've got Nankangs on the front of my 2.0D SE. They seem fine, but I don't go in for wheelspin, hard braking or cornering on two wheels. Done 4k miles on them now but wonder if they'll get to 10k?

They aren't that bad but nor are they good. Cheap and made in Taiwan, but they aren't really bad. I'd say they are the best of all cheap and nasty Chinese tire brands. But for the same price, you can buy better Korean tires (Kumho, Hankook) with better results.

Hankook are awful, I had them fitted to my V50 with 17" wheels, omg never again. Poor, very poor in the wet and not much better in the dry.

I guess it depends on which onesyou buy. I gas the Ventus S12 or what ever their name was. Bought upon ADAC (German AA) recommendation where they scored best marks...

The only Nankant tyre I have had any dealings with were NS2's on my 04/04 Legacy a few year ago.
I thought they gripped well in both dry and wet. Much better than the Bridgestones they fitted when my car was new which were fine in the dry but were lacking in grip in the wet. I would pretty much avoid the really cheap tyres, and when you can get Toyo Proxes and Vredestiens etc for only a little more then I can't see the point. As far as the OP goes I would recommend the NS2. A mate had them on his 2.8 Z3 and they gripped well and lasted well. |

Good video highlighting what you are paying for buying premium tyres and what you are loosing out on buying cheap Chinese junk...

I have Nankang NS2's fitted all round on my Mazda Mx5 Turbo which is used for road and track use. I have always been very pleased with them and were a big improvement over the Yoko' A-Drive ones I had fitted previously. Not as good in the wet as in the dry though but very hard wearing. I always see them slagged off on forums for being cheap chinese junk but if you actually bother to read independant tyre tests you will see they actually perform compareably to a lot of so called premium brands. I have no experience of the XR 611 tyre design though.
