V50 Engine 2.4 : - Flexi downpipe/Cat...

The flexi downpipe on my V50 2.4 has a hole in it, but as this is attached to the Cat I think I may have to replace the cat too = very expensive dealer only part!

Anyone managed to repair/replace the flexi section only, or failing that anyone know where I might pick up a second hand cat?

I've had this issue on a BMW diesel before and took it to one of these 'powerflow' franchise type exhaust fitters (the ones that make daft exhausts for daft cars out there) and they offered to cut the flexi out and weld-in a new one for about £80.00 I think.

I didn't bother in the end as it wasn't noisy and i got rid of the car like it.

Might be worth enquiring to save buying the CAT section!
