Does anybody have any idea where the rain sensor is on a 2005 V50 please?

It is mounted behind the rear view mirror in the glass. Look from the front of your car at the mirror. There should be an "oblong" kind of section. That is the rain sensor.

Well I didnt know that. Wandered what that large area was in the windscreen. Much larger than say on a 406.

could be why the volvo ones work,, the one on the 306 i had was fussy about the type/volume of rain ,and a bug splat in the wrong place totally baffled it.

Yeah... It is larger and more reliable. It does it's job well and as it is placed in an area, basically in vision (if the mirror wasn't there, you'd look through it) it gets the same amount of water as the rest of the screen (when said OTT).
