Default Workshop Manuals

Being a new owner of a 2007 XC90, I'd like to get hold of a workshop manual. Looking on the web I see you can get a Haynes manual that covers it, but imho they've gone down in quality since I bought my first one (for an Austin A35 , some while back!). There are lots of downloadable versions on eBay but some have those have nightmare reviews - files don't open, wrong vehicle, wrong language etc.

Has anyone got experience if a good manual? Where was it from and how much did it cost?

Thanks,

Iain

Might be of some use: https://workshop-manuals.com/volvo/

American site and seems to just cover US engine models though, but still a lot of common components (i.e. most of them ) between them.

The Haynes manual is ok but get a proper paper one (there are only paper back now not hardback). I use that and a combination of VIDA to work on mine.

It’s the Volvo workshop software. When coupled with DICE it can interrogate the car and give you all the error codes.
You can pick them up together for about £100 or so but you will need a windows 7 laptop on which to run it.

I've got a Haynes manual for my XC90. I won't go so far as saying that it's not worth the (low quality) paper that it's written on, but I hardly ever refer to it.
The photos are tiny and low quality. There are none of the exploded diagrams that, for me, were what made Haynes manuals special.
My info tends to come from here, YouTube and VIDA.

Thanks for the info Owenfacrell, sounds like I'll start with Haynes, even though Father Ted is giving it a bad reviews - I agree they aren't what they were but maybe better than nothing and they are cheap.

Ts72 - I'd seen that download but it was the fact it was for American models put me off. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I would agree with him that they aren’t what they used to be but for the relative cost they are ok and do at least give you some information, the odd short cut way of doing something and a bit of background on how the different parts work.
