Default Geartronic - any major issues? Servicing recommendations?

I am about to buy a A V60 D6 Hybrid with 52K miles and full Volvo history. Does the gearbox have servicing requirements (especially if used for towing) to be aware off - even if not officially required?

Volvo say not unless used in arduous conditions or for taxi work for the Geartronic, they do not even have a cost code in the pricing minuets for changing the oil on a manual.

I drive a manual D5 and change the gearbox oil every 2 years along with brake fluid and power steering fluid.

The engineer in me says any machine runs better with clean oil.

Paul.

Thanks, i do not beleive any gearbox can last on a sealed for life basis. Will probably find an independant volvo garage that will change the oil.

As my mate always say:- Oil and filter are the cheapest spanners in the box.👍

Audi say "sealed for life" on their slushboxes, the box manufacturers say 80k. I'd go for that.

Most BMW X5 owners will agree with that.

BMW say the same and we all know just how "NOT" true that is
Interesting how they don't offer "lifetime warranty" with the "sealed for life" slushboxes.
