Default Front brake caliper slide pin (Question)

Probably a really stupid question but I'm rattling my brain trying to think of any real problems and am trying to juggle looking after my daughter at the same time so probably missing the danger signs...

Anyway, just changed pads on my front right caliper and one of the slide pins was seized, took the bracket off to free it and snapped the head off the bolt in doing so, finally freed the pin and have put it all back together but I'm worried that because I haven't got a bolt on one side that my pads will just fall out or fail to work...

Is this something I need to be concerned about, the head of the bolt does sit in the hole so it's not just free moving on one side but it is only secured on one side.

Thanks for any advice.

Ideally you should have it secured with both bolts. After all, it is your brakes we are talking about, and it is not something you want to fail

Thanks Gatos, name your price and I'll have to go for that option as there isn't a single Volvo in a single scrappy around here anywhere...tried umpteen times for several things and get told the same everytime, "Sorry mate, we don't touch Volvo"

Is it just the pin and bolt that you are after? If yes, then £3.20 for postage.

PM me you name and address and I will post it today. Will send you my paypal tonight when I get in.

It is yeah, if I could just get the darn bolt out, it would just be a bolt that I'd need and have probably got one kicking about somewhere but the thing is so bloody rusted in, it'd probably be less stuck if it was welded.

Pm sent, thanks again Gatos

Brakes are something you dont mess with.If you cant fix it, put your tools away and dont endanger other road users and yourself, by driving a vehicle with defective brakes.
Vauxhall Astra h slide pins are the same.
