Default Hi Performance

I'm assuming most, if not all of you are familiar with Eric and Ian of Hi Performance. These guys are incredible resource to the Volvo community. They're i the midst of losing the shop they've been in for many tears and are having a very difficult time finding a new location. In an effort to survive this situation, they've set up a GoFundMe. If any of you want to consider making a donation, here's the link - https://www.gofundme.com/f/save-hi-p...ource=customer

I've looked into it, and I'm confident that it's legitimate.

cheers

James

Eric or Planetman as he is known and his company is legit. These posts are also on Brickboard and he does post there often. As yet I haven't seen anything from him about his situation.

There's a thread about it on Turbobricks. If it's a scam, a significant number of people known to me have been taken in by it.

I am in touch with Ian from Hi Performance Auto Service, so could easily check in with him if anyone is still concerned.

cheers

James

I was surprised that he hadn't posted anything here, but suspect it's because he's so busy trying to deal with this situation. That's why I posted this for them, especially after seeing a request in one of his Turbobrick posts asking for help spreading the word regarding the GoFundMe they set up. I've talked to Eric directly and even located a phone # for Volvo George (Jay Leno's lead mechanic) and texted him about the situation. Years ago, Eric over the phone diagnosed for me a no fuel situation on my D-Jet 164 that was caused by a stuck ball in the check valve. He could have just as easily tried to sell me a NOS Bosch pump, which I know he had in stock. These guys are not scammers.

Here's a post of theirs from today on Turbobricks -

Thanks again for all of the support.

Unfortunately, things have gone from bad to worse as both Ian and I have managed to injure ourselves.

Ian has hurt his back and I may have a hernia as my gut is hurting and we may need to ask for help.

We have all the engines and cylinder heads moved except for the few engines that are on engine stands, but we still have 20-30 transmissions and a comglomoration of miscellaneous parts still to move.

I don't think there is any question that Ian and Eric are scammers, but there are sadly situations where third parties try to take advantage of circumstances, and pocket funds they claim are going to be passed to those in need.

Anyway, I'm confident that's not happening here, and I hope Ian and Eric are able to get sorted out. I've only dealt with Ian relatively recently, but he was a great help.

cheers

James

Real shame but all too often the case these days that companies are forced to move due to property being sold up.
I really hope they can find somehwere suitable
