Default Missing fuse?

I had to replace the fuse (No 24) for the 12V socket, formerly known as the cigar lighter as it had blown.

I noticed that fuse No 23 (USB ports) was missing completely, even though the 2 USB ports are working fine.

I was always under the impression that if no fuse was present, the source wouldn`t work, but could be wrong.

So........should I add a fuse or leave as it is?

If it’s working, leave well alone.

As tem says, leave it as it is.

It's possible that that particular fuse position was for additional USB sockets that have never been implemented in UK models (or anywhere else).

Just in case anyone else needs to replace a fuse.

Don`t do as I did and buy new ones. There are spares inside the lid

Which fuse box is the 12v socket fuse in?
I had a brief look at the online fuse boxes for the S90 and V90 and could not find it.
Thanks.

tem.

Yes ' but you no longer have spares (or so many). Pennies spent now may be worth pounds in the future.

If same as XC90, these fuses are in the engine compartment box.

Fuse 23 is centre tunnel USB socket (5A), fuse 24 is centre tunnel front 12v (15A) and fuse 25 is centre tunnel rear 12v (15A).

All these are 'Micro' fuses.

Thank you.
Just checked the MY17, S90 and V90 and as above, that is where the fuses are.

The terms 'Micro' and 'Micro 2' are used interchangeably and mean the same thing. The Volvo manual for my XC90 refers to these fuses as Micro.

The '2' in Micro 2 doesn't indicate that it's version 2 of the fuse. There is no Micro 1 as the number actually indicates the number of blades on the fuse; cf. Micro 3 fuses which have 3 blades.

Confusion has arisen in the past because low profile 'Mini' fuses were(are?) sometimes wrongly called Micro.
