Twice it's gone into limp mode but drivable, this time starts, wont tick over or rev and continually stops and starts with the orange transmission light on and limp mode enabled.

I WANT A NEW CAR!
That is a total disgrace. I'd take legal advice. It's a shame car buyers aren't protected over here like they are in the US.

I would want a new car. Volvo's reputation for quality, safety and reliability will be in ruins the way they are going.

The New XC90 s90/v70 are just cheap cars dressed as expensive ones.

No wonder all their new models can be made on the same production line. As they all share the same engine and parts.

Good news.
This thread seems to have ended.
Have Volvo finally resolved the EGR problem, after nearly 2.5 years?
Hopefully, current and future D4 engines will not have any problems.

No , a fresh batch again now with the cold damp weather , but they will be having the final hose fix , no further faults with the ones which already have the new water hoses .
They started using the new hoses from the factory a couple of months ago .

Default XC60 D4 Dec2k14 EGR issue

Hi
i am taking mine in next monday ....

Can any one share the details of the latest part numbers or revisions or some images on how i can CONFIRM that the dealer will be using the latest replacment parts to permantly solve the problem ?

Also should the EGR also be replaced the local Dealer in Malta is saying the EGR will only be cleaned.

The modified hoses have a top hose that goes direct to the block , no T piece half way along it ..

Only the cooler is changed with this job If the egr valve is found to be faulty that is a separate job ... as is any other engine management issue .

Much appreciated ...

is any engine managment/software/firmware update also part of the fix ? i read that the ECU was over cooling which was also worsening the issue.

Clan, if you have the T-piece hose, ie not modified, does it mean you will most likely have the EGR issue at some point?
