Exclamation You ain't got nowt on me!!

I used to run a Mistubishi Pajero 2.8 Tic Auto.

When Diesel was at it's peak a couple of years ago (133.9p IIRC) I had a 600 mile drive ahead of me, so I filled it to the brim, the cost.....

Wait for it.....

£125!!!!

And it got me all of 400 miles!!

It was shortly after this particular trip that I started running it on veg oil!!

Steve

Well I very rarely put more than £40 of fuel in the tank.
It must cost you money pulling all that fuel around with you when the tank is full.

Yes maybe. On the other hand fuel is going up all the time so is it cheaper to get half a tank at say, £1-18 and your next half tank at say £1-20, or get a full tank in the first place and drag the extra weight about?

Isn't it funny how stupid questions come to mind when you're bored.

Pete.

Before i found out that the over run switch was sticking on even at idle, £20 would get me around 90-100 miles, now its more like 130-140 miles to £20!

You would normally use more fuel going to the fuel station the extra time to put more fuel in than you would on carrying round the extra kilos in a full tank.
