No I've opted for auto over manual this time.
Will check to see what the warranty covers but from what i have been told so far the complimentary warranty can be used locally if the cost is same or less than the garage they use, otherwise they would ask it to be taken back to them for the work. Paying the extra would mean it can be used anywhere but will check the terms first |

If costs dont deter you, AWD would be good option but I wouldnt hold your breath for one to show for sale anytime soon. best of luck with viewing!

Car looks nice, just wish the engine bay and interior was a little cleaner. Pulls well and all looked fine until i parked up. Turned off then on again and electrics didnt work (windscreen wipers on permanently) no dash lights windows etc. Left it a while and it started working again then stopped.
Salesman speaking to garage down the road about this while i test drive the other v50 |

They have been told its the radio unit causing an interference and swapping the until with the other one here will solve the problem.
If anyone here can confirm that sounds right please let me know! |

Pretty much every module on these cars is coded to the car. This also doesn't sound like the problem, it'll (90% sure) be the CEM under the glovebox. Disconnect the battery, remove the bit of carpet under the glovebox, and disconnect all the cables on the CEM, clean them up with some IPA and an old toothbrush then reassemble and that'll more than likely fix it. Obviously it's a bit hard to do on a car you've not yet purchased but I'd say that's the issue. Downside is you won't know if it's fixed till you've had a few weeks of driving it without fault.

+1 to above, that is just simple bs. Radio units on those cars are fiber-optic connected and is usually last thing causing issues. Also as FM said - wont work as its coded to VIN. Point them towards CEM and demand inspecting or walk away if they keep finding random excuses.
edit - dont think it would cause that symptom but no harm to check - see if there is any aftermarkert wiring for headlamps, ie HID kit retrofitted by previous owner?

TBH I'd walk away if it was me. The seller is feeding you BS. & CEMs are costly & dealer only.

I would imagine that the fact it's an auto tips it over the tax bracket into the higher car tax band.
I know when looking at XC90 d5's the manual was lower emissions and cheaper tax than the auto equivalent. |
