  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default 2002 v70 bi fuel lpg problem

hi, my 2002 v70 bi fuel (factory fit lpg)keeps having a misfireon pot 5,
have changed the coil pack,changed the plugs & put injector cleaner in the petrol.
anyone have any ideas ?

Its your gas distributor, swap pipe 5 with the blank pipe and your mis fire should be cured

Also, you can try cleaning the dist with carb cleaner, I tried it with the S60 l'm driving, but ended up replacing the dist, but my issue was cutting out while on gas, I had the mis fire problem last year

If you remove the 2 mounting bolts of the dist unit and remove your radiator fan, this gives you plenty of access to play with the pipes, the dist is numbered, but I don't know why as it doesn't matter where the pipes go.

hi , just had a thought after reading other peoples problems,
my lpg system was working okay until i had the car serviced,
volvo plugs were fitter, checked and their 3 prong plugs, read a lot about lpg not liking this type of plug,do you thing conected?

I've 3 prong in mine and its perfect, last plugs were 3 prong as well, only thing was, after 10k they were done, but then again, LPG is hard on plugs

Can't remember how many prong mine are but they've lasted 30k and still going strong.

hi changed the plugs for bocsh super plugs on saturday, reset engine managment light ect , drives nice now more power , no misfire between 60 and 70 and no light come on yet , so keep your fingers crossed it apears to be okay now!!
