V70 owner... again!
Well after a couple of years without a V70 and having a Passat, I have bought myself a V70 today. 2008 with 140k it’s had just one owner from new. Never even failed an MOT or had advisories!
Last V70 I had was a 2004 so this will be the “new” shape to me. That was a bit of a shed which hadn’t been loved, this ones a different kettle of fish altogether. I can’t wait to get it now, I forgot how much I liked V70’s! |

It's true what they say,-you don't appreciate what you have till you lose it-[in many various forms, when i decided it was time to change my astravan,my choice was either the passat estate or the volvo v70,as both had square, back ends-[around year 2005]making great load capacity any in my view nice looking,i am glad i plumped for a 2005 v70,takes more load than previous, more comfy, more economical, and a nicer looking motor.i have had it for 4 years now and my only regret is that i didn't get one years earlier, and it's my intention to drive this or one like it till i can't drive anymore-[approx 15 years-unless the powers that be ban diesels or i unfortunately get banned- unlikely] So welcome back to the V70 you always knew it made sense to go back.

You bought an '05 4 years ago and regret not buying an '04?
Were both cars available when you purchased? What could the differences possibly have been? Truly, why the remorse? |

My post maybe was misleading, sorry, what i meant to say was that i wish i had bought a v70 ages ago, regarding a 04 or 55 plate, then yes knowing what i know now regarding the extra stuff like dpf swirl flaps etc i would have chose an 04-163 bhp,but at the time i purchased mine i didn't do my homework on the marque, having said that i have had no issues with my dpf apart from a minor stutter when i didn't prime the fuel pump after replacing the valve lifters, and only probs with swirl was the broken arm.I also like the facelift improvements-brushed ally trim etc. Please don't tell me i could have had the 163bhp,no dpf and swirls in a facelift version.

Thanks,I was afraid someone would tell me that, anyway i'll know for next time if anything happens to mine-[heaven forbid]There is some advantage though with a euro 4,-cheaper road tax,so il put the saving in a pot and in 5 years time may be enough to pay for a replacement dpf-[if needed]

Thanks for the comparison,I'm not worried at all, like you most of my journeys are short, with a motorway blast every month and no problems with dpf so far.If you have a 163 euro 3 or a 185 euro 4 there are no losers because they are both great cars and i wouldn't let a euro 4 put me off.
