Default Looking to buy but Q re handbrake

Hello

I am looking to upgrade my S70 to an S80 or V70. Would be looking for a petrol, manual which I appreciate are less common

The only issue that is putting me off an S80/V70 is the electric handbrake. Call me old fashioned but I'm quite happy using a handle. I used to have an S-type Jaguar with an electric handbrake and it became unreliable.

Is the electric handbrake on the Volvo reliable? And if it goes wrong, is it generally an expensive fix?

Electric handbrake is brilliant. Comes off on its own when on the flat or reversing uphill. Soon get used to it. It's on or off no in between. Volvo garage has to do read brakes as you need the software to wind back the motors. I didn't. I watched a you tube video and sound them back with a drill. Don't let that put you off.
