Default Any South Wales Specialist Garages?

Can anyone recommend a good Volvo Independent Garage in South Wales (Newport/Cardiff/Swansea/Carmarthenshire/Pembrokeshire) to perform a preventative gearbox oil change on my XC90 D5?

Thanks - I'll look them up. Have you used them yourself?

There was one in Cardiff down the Bay, about a mile or so from the volvo dealers that are there. In fact he was the master technician at volvo that set himself up as an independant.
I used him for buying bits years ago but never worked on my car. He seemed to know what he was talking about.
Wether he is still there or not I don't know.

I know the job you are after is £350+ vat at my dealers in Aberaeron

Paul.

Hi Paul, Thanks for the info. I didnt know dealers would undertake the job, £350+VAT seems steep though?

Can second BVS at Bridgend - a first class garage , have used them for several years now on all my Volvo's. they are very friendly, honest and I think reasonably priced. They changed the gearbox oil on my old XC70 a couple of years back and will be doing the same on my 'new' XC60 - for less than half the dealers quoted price. A bonus for you is they are only a couple of miles off the M4 so easy to find/get to!

I can recommend Cefn Smithy Service Station in High Cross, Newport. They don't claim to be Volvo (or other) specialists, but I've had my cars serviced and MoT'd by them for several years, and bought my Ford from them. They're totally straightforward, do first-rate work, and are a pleasure to deal with.

Hi, take a look at FRF Volvo in Swansea. They have a spares guy who is often appearing on this forum with good discounts on genuine Volvo spares. It might be useful to just ask them to quote on your gearbox oil change even if it is just for comparison purposes.
Good luck,
Will
