Arrow V70 2005 Dolby Audio - Replace/upgrade speakers?

Hello,

I have a facelift 2005 V70 with the Dolby sound. I have been a big overzealous with the bass and have began to blow a speaker.

Any advice on replacing/upgrading speakers?

Sound is great, but would like to be able to change speakers when I blow them.

Best,

Sam

pretty sure they are all riveted in so you will need to drill out then re-rivet

Yes, front door speakers riveted, was able to nut and bolt my replacement back in with the right tools and skinny arms

You say front door speakers are riveted... What about the rest? A simple screw job?

Not just rivets, but hard steel rivets. Idea behind - heavy speaker during a crash might fly through the cabin. These are fun to drill out because at some point they start spinning - I managed by drilling it at an angle. Then you'll need to find a replacement pin - fun fact, a speaker likes to rattle if it's not secured solidly. To top it up, a detail often times ignored is there is a small white tape behind each speaker, to prevent water that gets inside the doors to sip into the cabin. This tape must be placed back properly. The premium speakers on Dolby systems do fail now and then - my take, I would replace them with the base paper cone single speakers - these sound with more 'meat' at medium volumes and are perfectly fine as long as you don't pump the volume too much
