For sale; Volvo 940 2.3LPT 7 seater estate
Volvo 940 2.3 LPT estate. Maroon. First registered Sept 1995. I am the 4th owner. Bought off this forum from the third owner.
For sale at £2750. It is a very well kept car that, as you can see from the photos its looks great. It runs fine and when the turbo kicks in can surprise many modern cars with its turn of speed. It gets a lot of admiration and has been a joy to own. Son passing his driving test and getting a car forces sale due to space. It is the 7 seat version, with the fold down seats in the boot. It has an original radio/cassette player, electric front windows, heated front seats, front and rear fog lights, headlight wipers, boot cover and plastic liner and it is hard wired for a Nextbase dash camera (the camera is not included in the sale). The tyres are all Michelin Cross Climate with plenty of tread left. I get 24-25 mpg in general running. There is a service history going back to when the car was first bought, which shows regular servicing (20 in total) except for a gap from 2010 to 2014 (also no MOT for 2014). The cambelt was changed in 2015. The car was sold by its 2nd long term owner to a Volvo forum member in 2015, who started a maintenance and replacement programme which I have continued since buying the car in January 2016. 1995 - 10miles & 126miles 1996 - 5001miles 1997 - 10,447 miles 1998 - 15,683 miles 2000 - 26,389 miles 2001 - 29,915 miles 2002 - 33,829 miles 2003 - 36,954 miles 2004 - 37,554 miles 2004 - 39,514 miles 2005 - 41,055 miles 2007 42,101 miles 2008 44,410 miles 2009 45,610 miles 2015 56,838 miles (cambelt) 2016 62,107 miles 2017 67,757 miles 2018 71,790 miles 2019 72,939 miles MOT till 6th March 2020. No issue with last MOT. Any previous issues shown on MOTs have been fixed; I have had sections of the exhaust and the front track rod ends, tie rod ends and drop links replaced. The MOT record shows other issues such as wipers, tyres, a door lock have been sorted by previous owners. 2006 pass no advisories 42,010 miles 2007 fail then next day pass 43,175 miles 2008 pass, minor advisories 44,510 miles 2009 pass no advisories 45,610 miles 2010 pass, minor advisory 46,643 miles 2011 pass no advisories 47,516 miles 2012 - pass no advisories 48,461 miles 2013 fail then next day pass 52,245 miles 2014 no MOT recorded 2015 pass minor advisory 55,364 miles 2016 pass minor advisory 56,859 miles 2017 pass minor advisories 63,822miles 2018 pass minor advisories 68,784mils 2019 pass no advisories 72,094 miles General maintenance and replacement has kept the car in very good condition. The door cards had wrinkled and have been replaced with others from different cars and are in good to immaculate condition. A headlight was broken with a stone and has been replaced. Other replacements include a door hinge stay, a rear door lock, a headlight wiper motor, the mass airflow sensor and HT leads. The sale will include a fault code reader for the car. Known issues now are; -Drivers seat adjustable lumbar support does not work - A warning light flashes when the rear wiper or heated screen is switched on (the wiper and heated screen do work, though the heated screen takes ages to clear) - There was a leak into the drivers footwell after some very heavy snow. The carpet under the front mat was neatly cut to dry it out (photo below). The carpet could be replaced. The paint work, bumpers and some of the alloys have minor marks, or a bit of patina commensurate with the cars age and originality. The spare wheel alloy is in very good condition. The previous owner fitted reversing sensors in the back bumper. They rarely worked, so they have been removed and the bumper repaired, the wiring is still in place. The car has been kept as original and in as good a condition as possible. It is in occasional use and so the mileage will increase from that advertised. |

I should have added that it presently has 73,266 miles on the clock.
which will increase as the car is in weekly use. I am very close to Glasgow Airport and can collect anyone travelling to Glasgow by plane or train into the city centre. |
