New volvo owner
Hey guys
Been reading through the forum and think its a great community you have here, ive recently purchased a volvo v40 2.0 D2 R design nav which is on a 65 plate with approx 54000 miles on the clock, cant wait to pick it up friday(ish). So my question is, is there anything in particular on this model and age I should look out for before driving it off the forecourt? Ive done basic checks but am not massively mechanically minded any input would be appreciated! They seem fairly solid cars from what ive read and cant wait to get behind the wheel! Cheers |

There's no major inherent weaknesses.... but usual checks apply....
- If auto make sure you take a long test drive and changes are smooth hot and cold. - Check it has full history - if it's the Ford/PSA 1.6 D2 I think that was every 12.5k not 18k as with the Volvo 2.0 VEA D2 120 BHP engines. - Check ALL electrics. They're not unreliable but can be expensive to fix... - Check wheels for damage and tyres for even wear

I have a 2016 model year petrol V40 which I have owned almost from new and the car has been rock solid over 45k miles. The only issue has been a replacement battery recently.
All engines from 2016 model year are Volvo's own engines so I would expect them to be pretty much bullet proof. |
