Default Small clunk noise when sharp turning wheel

It only seems to happen lock to lock or round a very slow, tight mini roundabout... Perhaps on occasion over a speed bump. The clunk has a quiet reverberation too, can't determine if it's just on one side, but certainly happening up front.

Any thoughts?

The top mounts and bottom rubbers do not cost a great deal, it is the labour charge that would be involved to do the job. You'd be looking at being charged at least an hour to do one side (probably 1.5hrs) if you are unable to do the job yourself that is.

It shouldn't really take more than about 40min a side in reality though. Perhaps taking the 1.5hrs for your first time. Although if there are complications and stubborn bolts then that can eat away time.

Daim I'm sure done a how 2 on this recently i think anyway but don't qote me on it.

I've got a similar problem with my s40. A small clunking sound when driving slowly, turning (into my drive/corner) and driving over speed bumps. The car is almost 3 years old, still under warranty, and it has been going back to the garage to get this sorted believe it or not 7 times (it's going back to the garage this Friday, again!). I asked them for print-outs of all the work they’ve done (which freaked out the receptionist!) and I should scan and upload it here; it might help someone who understands more than me!

Sounds ominous. They identified the top mounts being the issue. Due in to be fixed 4th Sept. Fingers crossed they nail it - sounds like an old van going over rough road
