Default geartronic oil change No 2

Hi Guys

I have a question if anyone can help, Ive changed the fluid on my geartronic box twice, did last change a couple of days ago, both times box was brilliant,
like new, but this last time after about 100 miles or so its started clunking again when changing up and sometimes when changing down, same thing happened last time.
So the question is has the box got a fundamental fault or do i just keep changing the oil till its right.
Inccidently its in at the main dealers today for a service, software update and health check, be interesting to see what they say.
Alao for what its worth, when i bought the car the dealer (dodgy0 gave me 1 years warranty direct cover, wondering if I could blag a repair out of them or are these policies not worth the paper they are written on.
Your views would be much appreciated.
thank you all in advance.

What colour fluid is coming out when you drain? The new fluid cleans the crud from inside the box. Further drain and refills might be necessary.

Hi Bill
Well same as last time, oil was dark but didn't smell burnt.
Flushed through 12 litres and it came out nice and pink and clear.
You could be right. Might need another flush.
Cheers

I wouldn't have thought that a third flush would be needed - usually one does it. Unfortunately these gearboxes getting "bad manners" when warmed up is a symptom of slowly degenerating failure. If you have a warranty on the car then get it reported a.s.a.p. to maximise your chances of getting something.

Default Reset ecu

Just a thought after a fluid change the gearbox ecu parameters should be reset as i,m told by my workshop, and each time the car gear changes have improved, did you do this?

No I didn't, was in for a service with dealer but they didn't know I had changed trans oil and doubt they would have done it as a matter of course.
Whats involved can you tell me please.

We had those exact same symptoms on ours (decelerating with a terrible clunk and lurch once warm) and we ended up having it rebuilt. Expensive at £2200 but now as new and has added 100k more miles to its life.

Sounds like changing fluid is not going to solve your problems

If it's the later six speed TF80 gearbox, which it could be, I would suggest your issue is with the valve body - is it worse when it's warm?
