Default 2003 S40 T4 Engine Bay cover trims

Hi all,

I was looking at T4s on Autotrader as I often do, and noticed this T4 (albeit a phase 1 /1.5). On photo 12 of 20, you can see 3(?) plastic trims which cover the engine bay and tidy up the bay quite well!

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classifi...s/t4?logcode=p

Question is are they available / ready to fit to a 2003 Phase 2 model?

if so, who has some they would be willing to part with? Good condition of course!

many thanks!

James.

Try some breakers on ebay also. They do look good, I took mine off to clean them and it looked bare without them.

They do look nice but I like too see my engine, plus I curse the plastic under tray when you do any work it all has to come off and be put back on lol.

I'm sure Cornishv40 (pat) had some can't remember if he was selling them though, I'm sure it was him.

I agree with the bare look.

I think with what I am trying to achieve with my car, which is a fresh showroom look, those trims definitely work!

all the newer cars have more and more covers.

I do have a few stains on pipes and with clips and plastic aging and getting more brittle, so they would definitely look better covered!

cheers all!

looking on eBay, can't find any just yet I'll keep looking!

I'll keep asking until some creep up - wanting them before the car show im going to in June! =)

It's a long way down my to do list but I will probably get some one day

Anyone who bemoans these covers whilst keeping the main engine cover on is simply hypocritical (or a massive purist) - they don't take long to remove and you can do it on the drive to save labour charges at the mechanic, and cladding helps avoid MOT fails....

I once viewed a V40 that had its engine cover split and literally stapled together. I'd already noticed the bumper wasn't quite straight but that broke the deal as soon as I opened the bonnet.

Anyone know for the parts numbers for these cover trims then?

cheers

James.

You could always try and get a quote from FRF and ask them - it's what I usually do! - but you might need to find a T4 number plate first, so they can search for the car in VADIS(?)
