Default C70 2008 2.0D Error Code 301 Help needed please....

Hi,

About 6 years ago i had a problem with my C70 2008 2.0D and the DPF filter, and a mechanic sorted it by sending the module off and re-fitting.

I had a problem with the battery and have replaced but the car will not start and the AA have cleared all faults apart from one that reads 301...although everything comes on it will not attempt to start?

Any ideas of what I need to do and anyone that can fix it based in Surrey

Cheers

Dave

you need to read it with a decent code reader as that is not a volvo fault code ... also year and engine type would help 👍

still makes little sense however "steering Lock " can indicate the steering lock is faulty, does it work? they can fail on the older vehicles .

The code is ECM-C301 and is a software checksum error, this may be due to having a remapped ECU, but can also indicate an ECU fault.

Are there any messages on the dashboard when you attempt to start the car? There are a couple of common no-start faults on these cars, one comes up with an immobilizer warning message, the other is related to the steering lock.
