Default Airbag, service, etc reset tools

there are loads of electronic boxes on sale, for example ebay, that claim to reset various dashboard messages on popular cars. Anyone tried any ?
Any comments ?

Today I looked at a V70 with airbag message on, will fail its next mot, is this likely to be resettable or a real fault ?

Airbag message or airbag light as there is quite a difference when it comes to MOT time, it will fail if it is the light but if the airbag light comes on with ignition then goes out even with the dash still displaying the message they shouldn't fail the car.

Anything to do with airbags is the SRS system on the Volvo and to get at that to read codes/ reset the warnings needs Vida software running on a PC connected to the car via a DiCE interface (E-bay will find a DiCE clone which are often supplied with the software) or ask around as there might be someone local who has a DiCE - Mike

As Mike said, is it the red airbag light, or an 'SRS Airbag service urgent' message (not accompanied by the red light)?

Vida/Dice is your best bet for these cars if they have the slightest fault.
Is this the car you linked to a week or so ago? That one sounded to have been tripped by the seller removing hands free equipment.

It's always worth seeing if you can borrow a copy of vida to read the codes in a prospective purchase.
