Is the CEM water damaged , corroded inside ? was it flood damage ? Rain Water ingress which affected the CEM was only a problem from 2005 - 2007 . Look at the wiring plugs for the CEM too , the top ones are available as a repair kit if they are water damaged . Has the car had a new windsceen any time ? The genuine one wont leak but replacement ones can !

New Cem is the best part of £1200 fitted and set up,, That was just to fix permanent on brake lights !!

Clan is correct, does seam to be a early model problem, and a new !! unit only
