RE: Window Tinting
If you are unsure when you get them done VOSA will only put a prohibition on your vehicle if your front driver/passenger windows are less than 45% of light coming through, police forces may be different throughout the country but i no one does 40% but first give you the opportunity to correct it.

RE: Window Tinting
I'm not thinking of going near the legal limit, my car is mistral green so i want something to just blend the windows in with the car a bit more.

RE: Window Tinting
No bother mate, i have 50% on my front and that is lighter than you think, i was quite surpised, they then darken them as they go back so they have the effect that its not as dark as it looks.

RE: Window Tinting
I know you don't intend to DIY, but here's some info that may be helpful, though it's a US website!
https://www.tintking.com/Secure/orderfilm.cfm#1 When i got my estate rear end done a few years ago I went to Zeibart, I discoverd then that some tints are classed as e.g.-- 35% light transmission, and some as 35% light absorbtion (filtering) which would be 65% transmission, the opposite and a considerable differnce, best to hold a section in place before deciding. http://www.pentagonglasstech.com/news_legal_update.asp http://www.mavster.plus.com/tint.htm Current regualations applying to tinting your windows I've had mine done with "legal" all round & being a sort of dark grey colour, sets it off quite well. Good job done @ £300 |
