Choke problem
Hello I have 1979 244dl auto it has cdsu 175 stromberg type of carb its the one with flat white top. The problem is the choke has stopped working the car will start using accelerator and runs well when warm it just means I have to wait before I can drive off if I pull the choke it just wont start or when it is running even putting it on slightly kills the engine the dashpot has oil and it has a new diaphram on it Thanks any help appreciated.

Good eve,
Perhaps it is the choke cable mechanism set up? This manual here should help: http://www.myvolvolibrary.info/Tech_...el_Systems.pdf ,,, I’d suggest going through the set up procedure from scratch. Alan

... they are pretty simple beasts. See if you can operate the choke by hand at the carburettor (marked in the photo above) - if so you know it is an issue with the linkage (maybe the cable). If that doesn't work it is probably an internal issue with the carburettor.
