2002 V70 D5 Just Need Some Advice

I've just bought a 52 plate V70 D5 to use as a daily hack but it has the dreaded clock fault, I have a man lined up to help with that though. My question is, can the clock fault cause limp mode & cutting out issues or is it likely to be something else?
Also how do you get the heater switch panel out? I've pulled the pen holder off & removed the 2 screws at the bottom but can't work out how to get any further

Pull the heater module down and forward at the same time, you may need to wriggle it round a bit, and it will pop off 2 spring clips at the top. Disconnect car battery before removing cables to that module or you’ll set an airbag warning.

Clock fault won’t cause the cutting out and limp mode. I’d check fuel filter first for that as it often gets missed at services

Clocks unlikely to be the cause of limp. However, the clocks are a sort of clearing house for all sorts of signals and if it is acting up a lot of troubleshooting will be futile. The SRS system in particular.
Try pulling the bottom of the climate panel outwards. It should come out and it hangs from hooky things at the top edge.
Make sure your battery is disconnected for at least 10 minutes before opening any connectors in the cabin. Otherwise you risk setting an SRS lamp that needs high end kit to reset.

Well, progress has been made, the clocks are fixed which has cleared a lot of fault messages, interrogated the engine ECU & it came up with EGR insufficient flow detected, Fuel rail pressure too high, fuel rail pressure too low & another one about the turbo actuator. I've cleared them all off & we'll just see what returns.
I've got a set of filters coming for it today & also a seal for the in-tank pump, as it's leaking since I've fuelled it up

Some people tried fitting EGR blanking plates to these cars and depending on the year they throw a fault code.
