Its unlikely that the dealer would program (if required) a pump that they haven't supplied. Unless you have a receipt proving you bought a genuine part, then they may under exceptional circumstances, but I think its unlikely. It would have to be a new part too, they won't fit used. Dealer's generally only fit parts that they supply (i.e. genuine new parts). I guess all you can do is ask, it might be different over in the US. No dealers in my area (I live in the UK) will fit parts that weren't supplied by them. If you find out your pump does require programming and the dealer offers to do it (doubtful, but you never know), they'll charge you. It won't be free. With regards to what power steering fluid to use, Volvo use green CHF11S.

Every company I tried to order from shows an electric power steering pump.
I ordered 4 liters of PENTOSIN 1405115 EHF. I plan on doing a complete system flush, & hope for the best. |

Flushed PS fluid
With my sons help we managed to run 3 liters of Pentosin EHF.
It is amazing how turning the steering wheel lock to lock, pumps the fluid through the system. The fluid smells obnoxious. Unfortunately, no apparent change, PS still sluggish when cold. The 10 & 2 o'clock positions still have the "sticking" problem! P.S. Does anyone know the part number for the steering column universal joint? Thanks. |
