The USB stick is formatted for FAT32

Any ideas ?
I'm having exactly the same problem. Did you do anything else other than turning the bezel to get it to work?

Not sure what size "stick" you are using or how you formatted it.

Maybe google "format usb fat32" and try one of the freebie programs?

Hi Jim,
I've now tried 128, 256, 512 Mb 1Gb USB sticks all formatted to FAT32 in XP. Music on the same USB sticks is detected easily in media. I honestly think there is something wrong with the software upgrade as it shouldn't be that difficult should it!

I'll try your suggestion of using a third party formatter,

Thanks again

If you can see the music and play it from the USB stick in the car then you are proving that the car USB is ok leaving only 2 things.

A) the Sensus system is faulty
B) you are not naming the files correctlyi

3rd party formatting routines will not do anything for you, there is only one standard for formatting and they all do it the same way.

Think I know your issue - I had simular problem when I did it 1st time.
I solved it by formatting my 1GB USB stick as just plain old style FAT & have had no issues since then.....................

I agree about the formatting, after all FAT32 is FAT32 but I'm desperate. ;-) The files all have the .gpx extension, no spaces in the file name and are named correctly and have been tested on another volvo system but not with my USB sticks. My feeling is that the Sensus software is faulty and requires a trip to the garage some time.

If another Volvo car can see the GPS files and yet on your car you cannot then that leaves only one conclusion, and that will need a trip to the garage

Might be worth formatting as FAT16 on the off chance that the Sensus cannot read FAT32 before you drive to the garage and start having a go at them?
