not sure mate, i am not really that clever when it comes to audio internals. It just sounds distorted. I nver tried any other source, just the Ipod, as that is what i wanted this hack for,

I'd try those, but use capacitors to link to ipod. I'm guessing that S GND is signal ground but check it with a multimeter for zero resistance to metal chassis.

Just put the SC805 back in and wired into glove-box for now. Seems to work OK except I have to use a proper tape adaptor (that I previously used for ipod input) - a normal cassette with the tape removed keeps auto-reversing. No big deal though. Post back with progress. Regards.

this is getting complicated ha. I will see what i can do, but will have to order some capacitors

I am looking for a replacement Double Din unit instead Ithink, one with a rear AUX already built in

Bobby, did you try turning the audio signal volume level output on the iPod itself?

it would have no effect. the IPOD signal comes out through the normal IPOD connection, not the headphone out. It then goes through my Harman Kardon Kit, which converts the signal to a LINE OUT or RF signal. it is this LINE OUT which i connected

Without the circuit it is difficult to be specific about likely performance. However I'd definitely try the L and R points you mentioned earlier. With capacitors both the tape player and ipod are protected, so definitely worth trying. Mine's now working fine. Regards.

ok looking at the 10uf capacitors, there are many different voltages, does it matter, as long as i get more than 12V? do they need to be certain ones?
