Default Wing mirror damage

Went out to my v90 this morning and the wing mirror had been pushed the wrong way with the mirror glass smashed and the main cover of the unit lying in the road.

All very annoying indeed. Reckon it was some drunk oiks on their way back from the pub.

I managed to get the cover back in place and pushed the whole mirror unit back into its normal position. Surprisingly both the motor which folds/unfolds it in when locking the car and the motor which tilts the glass both work fine.

I'll need to get replacement heated glass mirror itself and guess this will be no issue to replace myself.

Trouble is that the whole mirror unit now wobbles up and down as it is loose where it connects to the 'stem' (?) bit at the base. From looking I can't see what is broken.

Anyone else had a damaged wing mirror with a similar issue and fixed it? Any thoughts/tips?

Thanks
