Tow Wiring Upgrade to 13pin from 7pin
Hi guys,
We have a 2010 XC90 which has 7pin tow wiring. We would like to upgrade this to 13pin so we can tow our caravan and get the benefits of 13pin electrics. I've just traced the 7pin cable and it goes back to near the fuse box. It goes into a Trailer Module number 12245629, does this support a 13pin wiring loom if I can source one? Does anyone know where I can get one from and the part number? Here's the current wiring loom numbers Thanks in advance to any assistance |

Your local Volvo dealer. They will be able to tell you if the module is the same and the supply the cable or supply both. They can then update the software f it needs it. The parts are not bad price wise and you get the bonus of getting the right parts rather than farting about with after market kits.

I think the module is the same. You just need to swap the cable with 7 pin connection.
And there is definitely no software needed if you change to 13 pin. |

13 pin electrics
I did exactly this last year and used the replacement Volvo wiring loom part number 31285778 - I have tried to attach the install instructions, but it's too big of a file so here's a link instead
https://accessories.volvocars.com/en...CC-482650/2007 I paid £66 for the cable plus, in my case, £15 delivery to Spain. 31285778 13 pin cable harness £66.00 This was from Volvopartshop.com exactly a year ago. They were very helpful, confirming part numbers and suitability of what I already had (Trailer module) The actual install was a 10 minute job with no problems at all.
