Default Powered Boot/Tailgate

The powered boot on my 2011 XC60 has started playing up.

First it started to judder when closing and sometimes coming back up and now it starts to slowly drop when fully opened and closes on its own.

It is the version with one powered strut and one normal strut.
It is type hydraulic or electric?
I’ve done a search and can’t find any conclusive answers.

Could the none powered strut have failed?

Thanks

Hi, small update.

I have ordered a new non hydraulic damper for the tailgate.
I disconnected it from the car and it has lost all of its resistance. Looks like it has failed and the oil has leaked out.

I’m hoping this is the root of the problem.
