Default Intermittant Radio/CD/Sat Nav...........

Hi All,

Recent XC90 purchase, 2003 T6, and I have to say I love it! Always wanted one and this one turned up at a very good price with one owner from new and an amazing service history, (about £15,000 of bills with the supplying dealer from day one, inc new gearbox 3 years ago).

So overall I'm pleased to have added the '90 to the fleet.

However, I have the "dreaded" intermittent Radio fault.......Stereo comes on and off when it feels like it, knocking out the CD changer, SatNav and reverse parking sensors etc etc.

I have read through the many threads on here regarding this, and tried some of the quick fixes, (spraying WD40 on the amp contacts, re-booting the SatNav.......), but so far to no avail.

This, I understand, may point towards having to replace the "Infotainment" module, and I've read the horrors of the cost of this!

Truth is I am not going to spend the £1000 or so that it seems to cost to replace the module on a car that has only cost me £2100, but I do want my radio back! Has anyone successfully just got rid of the Volvo Premium Sound System and replaced with a standard Radio & CD player/changer? I'm not so worried about the SatNav then not working, (although nice if it did I suppose), but would like the parking sensors to work.

Your thoughts please!
Regards,

Graeme,

When I bought my 90 the CD player was duff and the Radio refused to hold a station.

Lukas repaired it for me (along with my V70 DIM). Service was superb and 1 year later both items are operating perfectly. I also have the comfort of another year's guarantee.

I would highly recommend sending your infotainment system to Lukas to be fixed.

No connection, just a very very happy customer!

Cheers,
Paul.
