I found this on ebay. Haynes manual for volvo 850 92-96 J-P registration. By John S Mead.

Does this also have manual for 10 valve engine? What's j-p registration?

Thanks.

Not sure if you wanted to post a link to said manual but to answer your questions based on the Haynes manual I have, which is manual number 3260, the 10 valve engine is covered by the manaul, the only engine not covered is the diesel, and the J-P registration denotes the registration period the manual covers i.e between J registered and P registered vehicles.

Heres the link
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Volvo-850-Ser...item3ca89ddeec

I want to learn fixing this car bymyself as it cost a fortune to let the workshop do it. (quoted me $1000 for pcv service plus oil change) Okay maybe not all repair but at least I wanna learn to do some simple things.

I still don't udnerstand with j-p thingy. Does it really matter as I live in Australia. (Australian spec 850 SE)? Does it mean road registration period?

Hi Ivans, sorry my mistake I assumed you lived here in the UK and would know the registration meaning. Basically at the time of 850 production here in the UK the first registration letter of the VRM, Vehicle Registration Mark, denoted the registration year.

Basically the manual in your link covers all models, except diesel, registered/produced between 1992 - 1996 available in the UK market there maybe some spec differences between the UK and AUS models but effectively the basics you want from the manual I would expect to be the same.

Hi, the J-P is reference to the registration letters used on a yearly basis in the UK. We just use the year letter as an easier way to identify a particular year, so for you this would inmaterial. The manual would cover the basic for you apart from any items on the car speific to the Australia market.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
