Default Volvo s80 folding rear seats.

As above, does a 2003 s80 have decent folding rear seats? I have the chance of an auto 2.4 petrol se which was owned by a friends uncle, unfortunately now deceased. If I can convince my Mrs it would be a nice car for her, it could be a go. We have three dogs hence folding seat question....

The S80 has a fair slope on the back, bit like the S60 so headroom is a bit limited, depends on size of your dogs. Most volvos have a 60 / 40 split and the backs fold to give a flat or flatish floor. This was designed to accommodate the skis and 3 people. I preffer the V and XCs for their improved headroom over the load area and full sized tailgate.

Thanks Paul, I owned an s80 years ago and really rate them, but have no recollection of how flat the seats fold. I always feel that an old Volvo saloon has usually had a much easier life in the hands of a more caring owner than the wagons, right or wrong. My Mrs z3 whilst serviceable looks horrible again and I'm really not wanting to spend another small fortune on a sympathetic mot when I can buy a classy big Volvo with a year's ticket for the same money. It's just convincing her, she loves her wee BMW!!

No man, we have three cars. Rarely take all the dogs with us as one of them is a big fella. Properly big. But it would be nice to have the option if we replace her BMW

Anyone gimme a ballpark mpg figure for this car, round the doors and steady long run @about 60mph? My mate has now mot the old bus and it's ready to go, thinking about giving Mrs my mini and running the old Volvo for my shorter runs.

As a petrol, 20ish around the doors, 30 ish on a run. Nice cars but not frugal.
