Did I miss the thread on this one?

If so my apologies but the search didn’t reveal it.

If not then it was the usual case of a list of jobs done and a good number missed off.
I’m sure in the first shots the driver’s seat was worn badly and there were no rear mudflaps. By a he time it was sold it had a clean interior and rear flaps.
The dash repair was novel! Not sure how that would look close up.

Did all 240s come with HLWW? Certainly the Torslanda across the road from me has them and my lowly DL has them. They didn’t even put them on when it was sold.

£4k it allegedly changed hands for. The DVLA states the last change of V5 was November 2022.

Does anyone know the car before or after the Brewer treatment?

Not all of the very early cars with round headlights came with HLWW, 'hennabm'. I believe that home market cars may have had, either as standard, or possibly as extra equipment.

Neither our '75 'N' 244, nor our '78 (S) 245 (both DL spec) were so equipped. In contrast, our later cars, with both square, and, later, rectangular headlamps were all fitted with wash / wipe equipment.

As an aside, our Swedish friends claimed that they were unnecessary, as if you got dirty headlamps then you were clearly following the car in front too closely! But then, they did have far fewer cars than us to follow in the first place!

Regards, John.

They do not salt the roads like we do. The lights here quickly get coated with a layer of salt 6 months of the year
