help with immobiliser
my immobiliser keep's staying on and the only way i can get it to come off is to leave the car unlocked for about half an hour or set the alarm off on purpose both of which dont always work any ideas

1996 volvo 850 glt my immobiliser keep's staying on and the only way i can get it to come off is to leave the car unlocked for about half an hour or set the alarm off on purpose both of which dont always work any ideas and the light turns off but still wont start

what kind of immobiliser , the standard volvo one ? the alarm and immobiliser are separate to each other ...

what you need to do is change the antenna ring around the ignition switch AND renew the terminals on the immobiliser control unit under the steering column . you need
10 of these part number 978304 = female , 8 for the job and 2 spare ! These two actions cure two different problems , best do them both at the same time .
