Default New to Volvo - XC90 inscription pro Vs Ultimate (T8)

Hi everyone

We're in the market for a pair of company cars and have settled on the Volvo XC90 t8 after a great test drive.

As it's going through the business we'll be using the care by Volvo subscription service.

At the moment the online configurater and our local dealer is quoting 5 weeks delivery for an inscription pro (1169/mo) but... A new build MY23 in the new Ultimate spec is 1119/mo and I understand has a better/Google infotainment system?

Are there any other changes between the my22 inscription pro and the my23 ultimate specs?

(I've previously been driving German marques, 2 vw's and for the last 6 years a 5 series BMW)

Looking forward to hearing opinions and joining this forum!

Hi

I was in the same boat as you when I ordered my XC90.
I went for the 22MY Inscription Pro in the end.
Ultimate vehicles seem to me more R-Design based but did not check in much detail.
Main reasons I went for the 22my over the 23my was:
- can’t get diesel in top trim anymore
- not hearing good things on the new infotainment system
- delivery times were too long for me on 23my
- got a good discount on new 22my vehicle

I think it is down to personal preference in the end. If you want the newer vehicle with latest tech, get the 23my. However if you want tried and tested, go for the 22my.

What's the difference between infotainment systems?

Are they not Android Automotive?

22MY is Volvo Sensus system.
23MY is Android automotive system.

Sensus has been around for a number of years and has CarPlay/android auto ability (via option)

The Android automotive system appears to have a number of issues right now. Should be another thread detailing what owners are thinking of it right now

One difference is that the new ultimate has bowers and Wilkins stereo included (was 3500 option I think on inscription pro) and another is possibility of wool blend interior instead of leather. Both v attractive to me but ended up getting a used one instead of care by Volvo
