Default Volvo XC90 Stalling

We have an issue whereby our 2005 XC90 stalls for no apparent reason. You can drive 15 miles and then out of the blue the call just stalls. You can be pulling off or actually driving along. We have had thr rear fuel pump and fuel filter changed by volvo but it is still happening.

It's becoming quite dangerous now as it happened yesterday just yards after pulling away from a roundabout.

Sometimes but not always when we press the DTSC off it gets power back and carries on.

Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thumbs down

Any suggestions anyone. Volvo are being most unhelpful and we feel it's the end for poor old Monty.

Never heard this happening to an xc90 but it sounds fuel related. I had an identical problem with a mercedes which turned out to be the crank/cam shaft sensors. It would be advisable to get a proper vida diagnostic done on the car before you start throwing a lot of money at the car, it could be something very simple.

Evening, well we had a similar issue with ours and eventually what seems to have resolved it for the time being is that the 'Engine System Relay (MA3) was over heating and tripping the system.

We replaced it last week and have covered over 400 miles both motorway and round town without any issues.

Regards
