Sat Nav/Phone: Anyone got new Volvo RTI 2014 MMM/P2001 Maps

Hello guys,

I just saw that Volvo has released new maps for 2014 for older sat nav models with only DVD.

Volvo RTI P2001/MMM Europe
Volvo Part number: 31428072

Of course Volvo dealer asks for 200 euro on which I said that they are joking. For this price I could get Tom-Tom and whatever with life time map updates.

If there is somebody with those new maps and is happy to make a backup copy which is allowed. Then I would be happy to contribute.

Or I could buy them and make backup copy/ies just in case and send them around!

Best bet is to look on ebay

I went through UK and German ebay without success. Also checked Polish equivalent of ebay called allegro.pl and still no luck.

I don't really see myself paying every year 200 euro for maps update. It would be much easier to actually pay 200 euro for updates in next 4-6 years. Still not cheap however I am sure that loads of people would up for it.

By the way allegro.pl is great for Volvo parts as well and some seller would be happy to deliver outside Poland.

if you search, there are a couple of companies who will sell you 'pre made' backup copies for about £30 (ie: you already own the originals, they are just providing you a back up copy ....)

Thank you, I did as well however still those companies don't have newest maps for MMM/P2001 DVD based sat-navs for MY2005.
However I sent enquiries.
I also got answer from Polish seller who claims to have them and wants £68 for all 3 discs. I could then make my own precious backup copies.

Is it actually possible to copy one of the Volvo discs, I want to put on a friends c70, or are they protected?

Have been told they are all protected to prevent copying
(But have know to be wrong )

Cant work very well, I have 2 copies in the cupboard. Both work perfectly. The second one even updated the firmware of the SatNav.

I am waiting a delivery of all 3 DVDs for newest Volvo RTI 2014 MMM/P2001 Maps, Part number 31428072.
Once received I would let you know how new maps and interface looks like.
