Default Rear dashcam

I recently contributed to a thread regardind a dashcam. Someone asked a question of me and I was sidetracked before I could answer. So, two points, 1) I wouldn,t want him to think I was ignoring him . How doIidentify threads I'verecently contributed . 2) I will respond to comments but being on my narrowboat at the moment I may take time

No, I am not sure why it's under 'Statistics' either.

That would've been my reply to you where I was curious about how you routed the rear camera cable through the rubber tailgate conduit.

No worries if you don't respond; I'll figure something out. But thanks anyway for posting an update!

Macklii

Many thanks

SCW

Up the side to the nearside of of the car. Pull conduit gromment out of bodywork. Ths is held by rectangular plastic clip which remains in the bodywork.. It is loose but retained by 4 'claws'. Using a couple of thin screwdriver ease 2 claws inwards to allow half the clip to come out slightly then wiggle it out. The slighty buttuck clinching bit is over🤗. Using a length of curtin wire as a pull through ease your cable through conduit and ini the tailgate. You can then pop the wire out where you want it with the absolute minimum of wire showing and no gap to bridge when tailgate open. Putting the grommet back is simple as you can pre-assemble it and the clip

Good luck

Cheers, Frank. One day I might pluck up the courage to pull the conduit off - I had a go on Saturday but didn't want to force it.

As it was, by the time I'd removed the panels to gain access to both sides of the conduit my nerves were frayed! The cable bridges the gap fine for now.
